Menlo Park resident Robert S. Hunter III, a retired Carlmont vice principal and history teacher, was the founder of the Trivia Hunt in 1969. Although Hunter retired in 2008 after 40 years as the Hunt director, he still continued to serve as an adviser until his death in 2012. “The purpose of the Hunt is to improve students’ research, problem solving, and critical thinking skills within a fun academic setting that promotes school spirit and inter-school camaraderie,” wrote Dave Lowell, Castilleja math teacher and senior class dean who became the new Trivia Hunt director six years ago, in an email. “Teams are encouraged and expected to be competitive while exhibiting sportsmanship and fair play.”.

But whether you go every year or only once, Garden of Memory is definitely something for your bucket list.
“It’s a gray area,” said Walter Shaub, a former director of the U.S, Office of Government Ethics and another vocal Trump critic, “It’s certainly troubling to use federal property as a prop … But I think you’d be hard pressed to make a case of any actual violation of law as long as they are reimbursing.”, The government requires reimbursement — such as from Trump’s campaign or the Republican National Committee — for costs associated ballet flats during winter with the president’s travel to and from political events..
Mildred is a fourth-generation Los Gatos resident who moved from the Sund family home to a San Jose board and care home last November. Today, Mildred’s daughter, Susan Ward, lives in the circa 1880 home on Foster Road. At one time, the Sunds owned 40 acres surrounding the old homestead, 13 of which were apricot, prune, almond and walnut orchards. A few fruit trees still dot the landscape, and in a month or two purple flowers will bloom from seeds that were brought to Los Gatos decades ago by Luisa Sund.
