Nearly every seat is already sold for the 13 performances of “Hanging Georgia,” a new play by Sharmon J. Hilfinger and composer Joan McMillen. And every night there’s a line of people standing outside hoping (mostly in vain) that some ticket holder won’t show up. For this notable production, that’s a smart thing to do. It’s an exhilarating, inventive and mostly absorbing “biography” of the unique American artist Georgia O’Keeffe. Produced in conjunction with the BootStrap Theater Foundation (founded by Hilfinger), “Hanging” had its world premiere in San Francisco in the fall of 2011.

The Commission on the Status of Women is comprised of 17 adults and two youth members. Currently, there are five vacancies for adult members who may represent any district in San Mateo County and who must live in San Mateo County. The mission of the Commission on Status of Women is to improve the quality of life for women of all ages in San Mateo County.
